Yesterday Dean left to Pocohontis, IA to begin working on his first project with Gamesa!
This first project is more or less for hands on training with an existing project that is almost complete. This will allow Dean, and the other trainees the experience of working/learning on a project that isn't constricted with time frames for completion. Since this project is almost completed, he'll be there for about a month and a half before going back to PA in March to finish out his remaining classroom training. Once he is done in PA, the first actual project he'll be assigned to should be available. There are several sites that have been discussed, so we don't know an exact location, but we're hoping for the Illinois project, since that seems to be a pretty lengthy one, and would firm our plans up to go with him!
As I get more information I will let you know, but I am very excited about Dean actually getting to do his "job" and not be confined to a classroom!
The boys and I plan on visiting Dean in IA once he gets settled and into a routine. We're hoping in about three weeks to make the journey up to him, but thankfully one of the perks of this company vs. the last company, is that after working 30 days, he gets four days off to either spend at off with family (if we are there with him), or just relax, or he can fly home during that time (company paid) and spend a few days with us here! :)
I know the next few weeks for him are going to be eventful, likewise with me home with the boys, but until we get a definite long-term (more than 6 months) project, then we are going to stay here in TN, so we don't have to transport the puppies back in forth, or not have a place for them to be.
Again, we are very excited about this new job opportunity for him, and the places we will get to go in the process. Until then though, I guess I should start going through the house and packing the things that we don't use, and have it ready to put in storage and/or take with us... Hmm...
