Sesame Street Live...

Yesterday we took Jax to see Sesame Street Live. Dean and Jax were given tickets to the show for their Christmas Present from Aunt Rachel, Aunt Sara and Uncle Al... Dean knew that I HAD to be there as well, so he ended up buying the third ticket for ME for my last Christmas present. I am not sure who was more excited to go... Jax or myself... or Dean. I will tell you that I was counting down, and I DID in fact wake up early that day... ;) Along with our FRONT ROW SEATS, we also had meet and greet passes to go back and meet some of the characters...

The last few days we had been telling Jax that he would get to meet Ernie, Bert, etc... and we would rattle off all the characters that were supposed to be there... I told him yesterday before nap time, that as soon as he woke up, we would be getting in the car and going to see them all...
As soon as his little eyes popped open, Jax said, "come on mama, lets go! We go see Bert, Ernie, Count (ah ah ah) and Big Bird!" Then the whole way there we listened to Sesame Street songs with him singing along to all of them!

When we got there, they crew wasn't quite ready and we had to wait in line... outside. It was soooo cold, windy and wet... Jax was shaking as he kept looking around for stuff... Once we got in, they had kiosks with more over priced Sesame Street stuff than we had imagined. Of course Jaxon's eyes lit up, but just as he was about to start with the "gimmies" we were ushered away to go meet the characters. I was praying it would be Bert and Ernie - but it ended up being Grover and Rosita... Jax was so precious walking up to them. He had no words to say, kept his finger in his mouth, but as soon as we walked away... for the remaining 45 mins before the show started, all he could talk about was Grover and Sita and how he wanted to "put them back"... and go and play. ;)

Let the show begin...

During the first half of the show, Jax was glued to the stage. For only being 2, he was so observant and completely in tune to the show! I kept looking over at his reaction, and would have to wipe his eyes because he wasn't blinking! Haha. Then the characters started coming down stage and right to Jax. We were in the front row, and on the end - literally the best seats in the house is what we were told! When the characters started to come down, and Jax was given the ok to get up and go see them... he would walk up, turn around and duck his head down smiling with his finger in his mouth. It was adorable!

Intermission was a challenge. Dean was racing around trying to get Jax changed, and dealing with Jax and all the other kids not understanding why they were still there w/out Sesame Street characters dancing around lol...

When the show came back on... Jax was back in his zone and focusing contently... after another song or two, we finally got him up and dancing with the rest of the kids. Again, with the characters coming down - he would clam up and get shy, but then immediately get back into mode and wait for another to come up. He got to close his eyes and imagine with Ernie, dance with Zoe, honk a Honkers nose, high five Baby Bear and then some!!!

So after a day or two of hyping Jax up, the drive, tickets, program, pennant, new t-shirt, cotton candy, nacho's, juice, M&M's and popcorn... I am already looking for the next show to take him to next year. It was the best show I've ever been to, and I am so glad we got to go!!!! I can only imagine how Jax will react after another year of loving Sesame Street!

I've posted a link to the right with all the photos... hope you enjoy!!!
